Good-bye noon, hello sunset,
Upon my bike I ride towards hope, and rest and some pretty smiles along the way,
I bid fare well and temporarily forget the disappointments of today:
The boss’s below minimum wage,
The incomplete side deals halted by delay.
I anticipate the bed that I shall lay,
Full of warmth and comfort from the stolen love of mama Mziray,
Careful not to get caught by her man who is quick to slay,
Thoughts then shift to the empty food jars that remain,
How I wish there was a buffet,
to feast my eyes and belly if I may
But to no dismay, I am reminded of my life’s grey
I get into bed and pray
Then remember, shit! Tomorrow is another day,
here we go again.
